190 mio investment in Thuringia

In presence of the Thuringian economics minister, Matthias Machnig, the topping out wreath was installed above the roof of the new hall today - just six months after the construction work began. The new small car production - code name "Junior" - will start in 2013.

"With this new model Opel Eisenach has very good future perspectives", said Machnig, "the Eisenach plant has come out on top in the location competition because of its high quality and productivity standards." In addition minister Machnig is convinced that Opel will play an important role in the Thuringian greentech activities which will be strongly supported by the state government, too.
