CGI Group comes to Thuringia
The arrival of CGI Group brings another IT Service provider to Thuringia. The company plans to create up to 300 new positions at its new testing center.
Canadian IT specialist CGI opened a new testing Center in Erfurt at the end of November, boosting its capacity to supply IT and managed Services. The choice of Erfurt puts the Canadians in good company: 15 other IT companies have been drawn to the state capital since 1997, among them IBM, which now employs around 1,000 locals. CGI, the world's fifth-largest IT service provider, specializes in testing software for the public sector and industrial clients. To begin with in Erfurt it will have a staff of 50, but thanks to a steady flow of contracts it intends to increase that number to 100 by next year. Eventually, it wants to employ up to 300 IT specialists in Thuringia.back
