Foundation Stone Ceremony for a New Technical Center in Jena
"Rapid transfer of innovative ideas into marketable products", Thuringian Economics Minister Matthias Machnig stated the aim of the founders Center TIP in Jena.
Euro 4.4 mio of incentives come from the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Labor and Technology for the construction of a state-of-the-art workshop and lab building near the TIP (Technology and Innovation Park) in Jena. Technology-oriented start-ups and young enterprises can rent there excellently equipped rooms.
"In Thuringia, every year approx. 300 innovative companies are newly established, have about 10 employees after 3 years and 40 % of them reports an turnover of Euro 500,000 in average", Machnig underlines the importance of start-ups for the economics sector.
The new building will have available 1,600 m² whereof 855 m² are for rent, the remaining space are labs and workshops. As to actual plans about 12 companies can locate there and 50 Jobs could be created. As from 2015 the first tenants can move in.
