Investment of liquid funds with credit and financial institutions As a rule, credit institutions (house banks) should be involved in the granting of loans and credits to the commercial economy. They shall raise funds necessary for the performance of their tasks in a banking manner, in particular by: 1. taking out loans from public authorities, banks, insurance companies and other capital collection agencies; 2. Issuance of bonds and issue of profit participation rights; 3. raising of subordinated liability capital; 4. Fiduciary management of funds and management of special funds made available to it by public authorities.

The Thüringer Aufbaubank (TAB) was established in 1992 as a public law institution (pursuant to the Thuringian law on development banks). Since that time, the bank has assumed numerous tasks for the Free State of Thuringia in the promotion of economy, agriculture, and house building. Besides, the TAB supports the Thuringian municipalities in financing matters. Hence, it contributes to the further development of the business site of Thuringia.
